Dear Parade Participants:
We are excited about your participation in America’s Hometown Celebration 2009. Enclosed, please find information about your involvement in this year’s parade. A map and driving directions can also be found on this site. Please read this information carefully. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me immediately. General Parade Information
Weather Conditions:
Remember, this event is on the waterfront; you should be prepared for foul weather conditions.
Muster Time:
1. Plan on arriving at your muster area at 8:30AM on the morning of November 21st. Muster time is 9:30AM.
2. All vehicles must be removed by 9:30AM. Traffic will not be allowed down Main Street after 10:30AM.
3. Have your personnel in place by 10:30AM, sharp! We will position as many Divisions as possible on Court Street by 10:45 AM.
4. Parade Step-off Time is 11:00AM, sharp!
5. When dropping off participants, enter the mustering area via the north end of Court Street.
Muster Area Assembly:
1. Each group has been assigned a Division & Line-up Number.
2. The person leading your group must report to the Information/Check-in Booth at the Muster Field upon arrival, to be informed of any last minute changes.
3. Each Division will have a Division Leader, who will be wearing an orange safety vest.
4. Your Division Leader will direct you to your assigned parade position.
5. Positions assigned in the Parade may not be changed!
6. Please respect our town and our hospitality; collect all trash and belongings in the muster area.
7. Portable restrooms will be located at the muster areas for your use; additional restrooms are located down town. Check the map for locations.
8. Coffee and hot chocolate will be available.
Parade Rules:
1. Have fun!
2. No candy may be distributed at anytime by parade participants, or from parade vehicles.
3. No broadcasting (recorded or live) of political or commercial messages.
4. No distributing of leaflets, brochures, or handouts of any kind.
5. Any behavior determined to be inappropriate for the Parade Theme will be removed from the parade and addressed at a later date.
6. No vehicles are to be left in front of any Muster Area homes or along the parade route.
7. As with all parades in Plymouth, the police will ticket and tow any cars left along the parade route.
8. Parking at the end of the parade route is on a first come/first serve, as available basis. The Parade Committee is not in a position to guarantee parking for participants.
9. Parking lots are available at various locations along Water Street.
10. Participants are reminded to adhere to all posted regulations pertaining to street parking and parking in paid lots.
11. This is a sequenced moving parade...Timing is of the essence! Your Division’s Leader will set the pace. Please do not stop unless instructed to, or unless it is unavoidable.
12. Please remember Rule #1.
